Summary |
Dr Joseph Summers was a Professor of Music at UWA and known for his involvement in organising concerts and Liedertafel in Perth. He is the composer of works such as The Commonwealth of Australia: national anthem; Eucharistic hymn of young Australia; Swanland: patriotic national song, and The Westralian anthem. He appears to have been a somewhat eccentric figure according to Truthful Thomas in Through the spy-glass (1905), p.21-22. |
